“Excerpts” was developed at the San Francisco Art Institute using a Bolex camera and, later in the process, experimental digital editing techniques. Although the piece began as a black-and-white analog project, it eventually expanded into sort of a visual collage, incorporating occasional color and layered audio from personal voicemails.
